History of Ikarus 280

Ikarus 280.17 is an interurban version of Ikarus 280. In opposite to urban version it has reduced number of doors (2 in this case) and more seats. Commonly it has a stronger enine than urban ersion. Ikarus 280.17 were used in Hungary by interurban operators (Volans).

History of our bus Ikarus 280.17 #3935

Our vehicle was produced in 1990 year. Accoriding to number of chassis it was between 280.26 for Polish market (numbers 5304 - 5315 from Wrocław) and 280.50 for Miskolc. This serie was the only one 280.17 produced in 1990 and never went to regular service because it was bought by Hungarian Army and after 2015 it was withdrawn from service. After 2 years stay without any move it was sold to scrappyard and we bought it from there and repaired to make it operable. Now we are finishing details and trying to register it as heritage vehicle.
